“You can have it all!” the saying goes. What it doesn’t say is how you can have it all at exactly the same time with the same intensity and keep your sanity!
Are you still keeping up your career or building your business whilst parenting your children, snatching conversations with friends (possibly texting whilst having a wee) and vaguely seeing your husband when you get into bed at night?
Are you expecting that you should still be getting the same results at work and your children should be doing more, and your friends seem to have it all together (and if they don’t, your boss does so you still feel inadequate) and WHERE THE H*LL IS YOUR HUSBAND? And why isn’t he doing more around the house, because you’re the only one who runs the show?
While we’re at it, are you saying things like this to yourself; “Why do I have bags under my eyes? Massage? Who has time for a massage – wouldn’t even help anyway. I really must do some exercise? I really must do some MORE exercise. My hair doesn’t look as good as it used to. I can’t find anything around here! How am I going to get that new project going? I always have ideas and never enough time to make them work…”
What I have to tell you isn’t going to set your world on fire – but if you try it and keep going with the principle (and the actions) then you will have a warm, contented feeling inside you for a long, long time. However, because I am practicing my philosophy of having it all in a balanced way that I love, you’ll have to wait until a future blog for the answer, because right now I have to help my children pack up a picnic that they’ve been preparing and head out for a day of fun.
